BeeQueen

Frequently Asked Questions

Accounts & Access

BeeQueen is the mobile companion for agency staff - project managers, planners and action leaders - who plan and run field marketing actions on the MACS platform. It is not a consumer app, and it is not the ambassador app: ambassadors use BeeThere, and client contacts use BeeKing.

Your agency's administrator creates it for you. There is no sign-up inside the app, so downloading BeeQueen on its own will not get you in. Once your account exists you sign in with the email address and password the agency registered.

BeeQueen never handles your password itself. It hands you to our identity provider in a secure system browser window, which is what lets your device offer to save the password and what keeps single sign-on working across the Hive apps. Once you have signed in, the window closes by itself and you land back in BeeQueen.

Open Profile › Change password. That opens your account security settings, where you can set a new password. The change applies to every Hive app you use with the same account.

No. BeeQueen accounts are work accounts: they are created and removed by the agency that employs you, in the same way as your work email. Ask your administrator to close the account, or write to support@beequeen.app - the Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.

Actions

An action is a single planned activation - one date, one location, one crew. Actions belong to a project and to a client, and the Actions tab lists every action of the company you are currently working in.

Type in the search bar at the top of the Actions tab. Search matches on the action name and code as well as the city, client, project and action leader, so a supermarket chain or a colleague's name is often the fastest way in.

Tap the filter icon next to the search bar. The sheet is grouped so you can build a precise view:

The groups:

  • Status - Mine, With date, No location, No date, Pending, Approved by client, Open, In progress, Ok, Ongoing, Completed, Canceled and Canceled by
  • What - action name, project, action type, action code, channel
  • Where - location
  • Who - client, company, action team, action leader
  • When - a From date and a To date

Every dimension accepts more than one value at a time, and a small × beside a filled dimension clears just that one. Tap Search to apply, or Reset all to start over.

Almost always a filter that is still switched on. Look at the filter icon: the badge on it counts your active filters. Open the sheet and tap Reset all, and clear the search bar as well - search and filters apply together.

If the list is genuinely empty afterwards, check which company is active in Profile › Active company. You may be looking at a company that has nothing planned.

The schedule on an action's detail screen lays the whole day out in order, so you can see at a glance where the crew is meant to be at any hour.

The timeline covers:

  1. Pick-up and the journey out
  2. Build-up on site
  3. The event itself
  4. Clean-up
  5. The journey back

Underneath it, the statistics band works out the totals for you: total hours, the hours on the event itself, and the pre- and after-action hours around it.

The crew section of an action lists the bookings role by role, showing who is confirmed, who is still pending and how many slots are still open. It is the quickest way to spot an action that is a person short before the day arrives.

  • Overview - status, date and time, client, project, action leader, controller and the contact on site
  • Event info - location and address, the warehouse, transport, projected samples and contacts
  • Costs - location fee and team cost
  • Schedule - the timeline and its statistics
  • Crew - bookings, pending invitations and open slots per role

Not in this version. BeeQueen shows you the plan and lets you talk to the people carrying it out; planning, booking and approving still happen in the MACS web application. Anything a colleague changes there appears in the app the next time the screen loads.

Messages

A group conversation is created automatically for every action once it has been planned, with the crew already in it. You will not find one for an action that has not been planned yet - that is expected, not a fault.

Colleagues and ambassadors of the companies you belong to. The directory is closed - there is no way to reach someone outside your own organisation, and no public or anonymous messaging.

Three steps:

  1. Tap the compose icon at the top right of Messages
  2. Give the group a name
  3. Search the directory and tap the people you want; they appear as chips above the list. Ambassadors carry a badge so you can tell them from office colleagues

Submit, and the app takes you straight into the new conversation.

Tap the group's name in the header of the conversation. The participants sheet opens with the full roster, an Add people button and a remove action on each row, which asks you to confirm before it takes effect.

Not everyone may manage a group - if the options are unavailable, the server has declined the change and a group admin or a planner has to make it.

  • Archive moves a conversation out of your Active list into Archived. Nothing is deleted, nobody else is affected, and you can unarchive it the same way you archived it
  • Leave removes you from a group for good. You stop receiving its messages, and someone has to add you back

Swipe a conversation from the right in the Messages list to reach both. Direct messages can be archived but not left.

No. Messages in BeeQueen are part of the operational record of an action and stay in the conversation once sent. Treat the chat as you would a work email.

Scroll up. Older messages load a page at a time as you reach the top, and the day separators tell you where each day starts.

Companies & Notifications

Open Profile › Active company and pick another one. Choose All companies to see the actions of every company you belong to in one list, each labelled with the company it belongs to. Your choice is remembered until you change it again.

If your account belongs to a single company, the switcher does not appear at all.

New chat messages. Tapping a notification opens the conversation it came from. BeeQueen does not send marketing notifications of any kind.

No. Actions, schedules and messages are loaded live from the server every time, so the app needs a working connection. On a site with poor coverage, load the action detail while you still have signal.

No. The app has no map and never asks for the location permission. The addresses you see are the ones planned for the action, not where you or anyone else happens to be.

Profile › About shows it. Quote it whenever you report a problem - it tells support exactly which build you are running.
